Ferrari has released the first set of details for its upcoming all-electric supercar, internally codenamed Elettrica, which will go into production in 2026. This will be the brand’s first-ever zero-emission model, and as expected, it promises performance worthy of the Prancing Horse badge, with a combined output of over 986hp (735kW/1,000PS) and a distinctive electric sound experience unlike any other EV.
Ferrari Elettrica to have Quad-motor setup with hypercar-derived tech
According to Ferrari, all major components of the Elettrica — including the motors, battery pack, and software systems — have been developed and manufactured in-house. The powertrain comprises four electric motors, with the front e-axle derived from the upcoming F80 hypercar, producing 282hp (210kW/286PS), while the rear motors add another 831hp (620kW/843PS).
The EV will offer three distinct driving modes — Range, Tour, and Performance — each fine-tuned for different driving environments. Ferrari claims the Elettrica can sprint from 0-100kph in 2.5 seconds, while top speed is rated at 310kph (193mph).

Ferrari further adds that the the battery pack, integrated directly into the floorpan, contributes to an exceptionally low centre of gravity — 80mm lower than an equivalent combustion-powered model. The 122kWh high-density battery, with an energy density of 195Wh/kg, is said to be the highest among current production EVs. It supports 350kW DC fast charging and is paired with a sophisticated liquid-cooling system. Ferrari estimates a range of over 530km (329 miles) on a full charge.
The Elettrica’s chassis draws inspiration from mid- and rear-engined Berlinettas, featuring an extremely short wheelbase of 2,960mm and a driver’s position set close to the front axle, reinforcing the car’s agility and sharp handling. The active suspension system borrows technology from both the Purosangue SUV and the upcoming F80 hypercar, promising a balance of GT-level comfort and precision body control.

Ferrari has also invested significant effort into ensuring the Elettrica delivers an authentic driving experience, even without a combustion engine. Instead of replicating synthetic engine noises, the company has developed a system that amplifies the mechanical vibrations of the electric powertrain through dedicated sensors. This creates a unique, natural sound signature, designed to evolve with throttle input and speed, giving the car a distinct auditory identity.

While Ferrari has yet to confirm the bodystyle, earlier spy images suggest the Elettrica will be a four-door, four-seat grand tourer, potentially sharing its dimensions and practicality with the V12-powered Purosangue. The EV’s styling and architecture will reportedly blend GT proportions with design elements inspired by classic berlinettas.
The world premiere of Ferrari’s first EV is scheduled for spring 2026, with a preview of the interior expected to be revealed early next year.
