Exclusive - Lakshmi Ram Kumar Subbaraj Joins JSW MG Motor as Director – Sales, to Report to CCO Vinay Raina
Appointment underscores JSW MG’s push for disciplined sales execution amid EV-led transformation.
JSW MG Motor has appointed Lakshmi Ram Kumar Subbaraj as Director—Sales, marking another key leadership addition as the automaker sharpens its commercial operations under the new JSW Group–SAIC partnership. Subbaraj succeeds Rakesh Sen and will report to Vinay Raina, JSW MG Motor's Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
Lakshmi Ram Kumar Subbaraj brings over two decades of automotive leadership experience across sales, marketing, and dealer development. Most recently, he served as National Sales & Marketing Head – SCV Cargo & Pickups at Tata Motors (2023–24). Before that, he spent nearly two decades at Ford Motor Company, where he became Vice President – Sales (2017–22), leading turnaround strategies for models such as the Endeavour and Ecosport.
His earlier assignments at Ford included product marketing and dealer development, where he played a pivotal role in network expansion and governance structures. He began his automotive career with TVS Motor Company in the early 2000s.
JSW MG Motor’s sales and marketing leadership now carries a strong Ford imprint. Vinay Raina (CCO), Udit Malhotra (Head of Marketing), and now Lakshmi Ram Kumar Subbaraj (Director – Sales) all spent significant years at Ford India. This alumni network brings Ford’s customer-centric and process-driven approach, and their shared background is likely to influence JSW MG’s go-to-market execution as the company lines up new EVs and SUVs.
His appointment is vital for JSW MG Motor, which is looking to scale volumes, deepen retail penetration, and strengthen its commercial muscle in a highly competitive passenger vehicle market. With Vinay Raina anchoring the commercial organisation as CCO, Ram Kumar Subbaraj’s experience in building sales structures and driving volume execution is expected to support the company’s next growth phase.
