Eurogrip Launches Trailhound Motorcycle Tyres in Indian Market
New dual-purpose tyre range features SCR and STR variants designed for different riding applications, expanding options for adventure motorcycle enthusiasts across India.
Eurogrip Tyres has officially launched its internationally recognized Trailhound tyre line in India, expanding options for the country's growing adventure motorcycle segment. The company unveiled two distinct variants at today's launch event: the Trailhound SCR, engineered for modern-classic roadsters and café racers, and the Trailhound STR, developed specifically for medium to large adventure motorcycles.
The introduction follows the product's successful international debut at Italy's EICMA auto show and represents a significant addition to Eurogrip's premium motorcycle tyre portfolio.
"We are pleased to bring the Trailhound series to Indian riders," said P. Madhavan, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales at TVS Srichakra Ltd, Eurogrip's parent company. "These tyres enhance our premium product range and are specifically designed to meet the demands of India's expanding adventure riding community."
The Trailhound SCR offers an 80/20 on-road to off-road capability ratio, featuring a specialized tread pattern that enhances water drainage and traction on unpaved surfaces while maintaining stability on paved roads. Its construction includes a radial structure with steel belt reinforcement and synthetic fiber X-ply configuration that improves handling characteristics and impact resistance.
For riders seeking primarily on-road performance with occasional light off-road use, the Trailhound STR provides a 90/10 capability ratio. The tyre incorporates quadrazone technology with multiple compound layers and high silica content (80%) for improved grip in challenging weather conditions.
V. Sivaramakrishnan, Chief Technology Officer at TVS Srichakra Ltd, emphasised the technical sophistication behind the new products: "Both tread pattern design and material composition significantly impact performance. The Trailhound series demonstrates our commitment to balancing these elements through global technology integration."
The company indicates that both Trailhound variants are now available through authorized Eurogrip dealers nationwide, though pricing details were not specified at the launch event.
This product introduction aligns with the growing popularity of adventure and touring motorcycles in India's premium two-wheeler segment, where riders increasingly seek versatile tyres capable of handling diverse road conditions.
