Escorts Kubota witness flat tractor and construction equipment growth, expects rebound post elections
The domestic tractor sales in April 2024 were at 7,168 tractors, as against 7,252 tractors sold in April 2023.
Escorts Kubota Limited agri machinery business division reported flattish year-on-year (YoY) growth in the month of April selling 7,515 tractors as against 7,565 tractors sold in April 2023. The company attributed the development to the impact from ongoing elections, low reservoir water levels, decreased haulage activities, and moderate rabi output, despite the festive season shifting to April this year.
As per company statement, the domestic tractor sales in April 2024 were at 7,168 tractors, as against 7,252 tractors sold in April 2023. "However, we expect sentiments to improve post-elections, especially with forecasts predicting a near-to-above-normal monsoon this year," the statement said.
The export tractor sales in April 2024 were at 347, registering growth of 10.9% as against 313 tractors sold in April 2023, the company continued.
Meanwhile, Escorts Kubota Limited Construction Equipment Business Division reported selling 446 machines in April 2024, compared against 457 machines sold in April 2023.
