Escorts Kubota Tractor Sales Dip; CE Sales Rise 92.5%

Escorts Kubota Limited sold 15,214 tractors in September 2026, down 16.7% from 18,267 units sold in September 2025. The decline follows a stronger August, when the company sold 10,072 tractors, up 19.1% year on year.

Domestic tractor sales stood at 14,911 units in September 2026, down 16.2% from 17,803 units a year earlier. Export sales fell 34.7% to 303 units from 464 units. The company attributed the year-on-year comparison partly to the high base created by the GST rate reduction in September 2025, along with a shift in the festive season to October this year, patchy monsoon conditions and relatively lower Kharif sowing.

The September decline comes after a 19.1% increase in tractor sales in August. In August, domestic volumes had risen 20.5% to 9,523 units, while exports declined 0.9% to 549 units. The company had cited improving monsoon conditions, progress in Kharif sowing and rural demand as factors supporting the August performance.

Escorts Kubota Tractor Sales Up 10% In April-September FY27

Despite the September decline, Escorts Kubota's tractor volumes for the first six months of FY27 remained higher than the corresponding period of FY26.

The company sold 70,879 tractors between April and September 2026, up 10% from 64,458 units in the same period last year. Domestic sales increased 11.3% to 68,085 units, while exports declined 14.8% to 2,794 units.

For the July-September quarter, total tractor sales were broadly flat at 34,017 units, compared with 33,877 units in Q2 FY26. Domestic sales increased 0.9% to 32,628 units, while exports fell 10.3% to 1,389 units.

The September result also changes the trajectory seen earlier in FY27. Through August, the company had recorded 55,665 tractor sales for April-August, up 20.5% year on year. September's decline brought the six-month growth rate down to 10%.

Construction Equipment Sales Rise 92.5% In September 2026

Escorts Kubota's construction equipment business recorded a different trend in September, with sales rising 92.5% year on year to 795 machines, compared with 413 units in September 2025.

The September volume follows 435 machines sold in August 2026, which was 16% higher than the 375 machines sold in August 2025. The latest increase therefore represents a sharper acceleration in construction equipment volumes compared with the August growth rate.

For April-September FY27, construction equipment sales reached 3,108 units, up 41.2% from 2,201 units in the corresponding period of FY26. Q2 sales stood at 1,764 units, up 53.9% from 1,146 units a year earlier.

Infrastructure Activity Supports Construction Equipment Demand

Escorts Kubota said construction equipment demand in September was supported by government-led infrastructure investment and project execution across roads, railways, urban infrastructure and mining. Export opportunities also remained supportive across key markets, while the company identified geopolitical uncertainties as a factor to monitor.

For tractors, the company expects festive demand, crop harvesting and improving rural liquidity to support industry volumes in the coming months. However, it expects the high base effect to continue moderating industry growth in the near term.
