Escorts Kubota Reports 46.9% Growth in Tractor Sales for January 2026
Company's domestic tractor segment sees 50.8% jump driven by positive rural sentiment and favorable farm conditions.
Escorts Kubota Limited announced its sales volumes for January 2026, reporting significant growth in its tractor business while construction equipment sales remained relatively flat.
The company's Agri Machinery Business Division sold 9,799 tractors in January 2026, marking a 46.9% increase compared to 6,669 tractors sold in the same month last year. The growth was primarily driven by strong domestic demand, with domestic tractor sales reaching 9,137 units, up 50.8% from 6,058 units in January 2025.
According to the company, the domestic tractor industry maintained momentum during the month, supported by several favorable factors including positive rural sentiment, increased farm activity due to progress in rabi sowing, improved water availability, reduced GST rates, favorable government policies, and ongoing state subsidies.
Export tractor sales showed modest growth of 8.3%, with 662 tractors sold in January 2026 compared to 611 units in the same period last year.
For the ten-month period from April to January (FY26), total tractor sales stood at 1,11,212 units, representing a 16.3% increase over the previous year's 95,590 units.
In contrast, the Construction Equipment Business Division experienced a slight decline, selling 524 machines in January 2026 compared to 544 machines in January 2025, a decrease of 3.7%. For the April-January period, construction equipment sales totaled 4,441 machines, down 16.3% from 5,309 machines in the same period last year.
The company noted that while the construction equipment industry continues to face demand softness and slower infrastructure execution, January 2026 volumes showed early signs of stabilization. Escorts Kubota expects gradual improvement in this segment, supported by timely project awards, better on-ground execution, and anticipated higher government spending.
Escorts Kubota Limited, one of India's leading engineering conglomerates with eight decades of manufacturing experience, operates diversified businesses across agricultural machinery and construction equipment divisions.
The announcement was made in compliance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, and was submitted to BSE Limited and National Stock Exchange of India Limited.
