EMotorad Sets Guinness World Record for Largest Electric Bicycle Delivery in Kuppam
Electric bicycle manufacturer delivers over 10,000 e-bikes in 24 hours under government initiative.
EMotorad has secured a Guinness World Records title for the largest electric bicycle delivery after distributing more than 10,000 e-bikes in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, within a 24-hour period on January 31, 2026.
The record attempt was conducted in collaboration with the District Collectorate of Chittoor, Kuppam Area Development Authority, and IIT Kanpur. The initiative, known as "Super Cycle," was spearheaded by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
The program targeted residents engaged in daily economic activities, including small traders, MSME operators, shop owners, and milk sellers. According to the company, many recipients received their first personal vehicle through this initiative.
Kunal Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of EMotorad, described the project as a high-impact public-private partnership. The delivery process ran continuously for 24 hours, with beneficiaries queuing as late as 4 AM to collect their electric bicycles.
The company assembled all electric bicycles used in the record attempt within 72 hours prior to the event, involving over 1,000 team members. Swapnil Dangrikar, Senior Adjudicator at Guinness World Records, confirmed this was a newly created category as no such record had been attempted previously.
The electric bicycles provided feature removable and rechargeable batteries, pedal-assist riding modes, front suspension, and mechanical disc brakes. The vehicles are designed for regular commuting with minimal running and maintenance costs.
EMotorad has indicated plans to expand the initiative, with discussions underway with approximately 20 other nodal authorities and district collectorates across India. The company aims to deliver 100,000 cycles by November 2026.
Kuppam, described as a model constituency, has been advancing in infrastructure, industries, and e-mobility initiatives. The program was designed to address the rising costs of electric vehicles and service reliability issues affecting lower-income populations.
