EKA Mobility has extended its employee stock option programme to 100% of its workforce, making more than 1,000 employees shareholders through stock options, according to a Diwali message issued by founder and chairman Sudhir Mehta.

The programme covers employees across functions and levels, including assembly-line workers, engineers, technicians and corporate staff. The company said the initiative is intended to give employees a stake in the business and allow them to participate in the value created as EKA Mobility expands its operations.

In his message to employees, Mehta said the stock options were extended across the organisation rather than being restricted to senior management. He said the programme reflects the company's approach of sharing ownership with employees involved in manufacturing, product development, vehicle maintenance and business operations.

Mehta also called on employees to take greater responsibility for product quality, operational efficiency and customer service, linking the ownership programme to accountability across the organisation.

He urged employees to identify operational issues, address problems within their control and maintain quality standards across the company's activities.

The chairman also linked EKA Mobility's electric bus business to India's efforts to reduce urban emissions and dependence on imported fuel, stating that employees would share in the company's progress in the electric mobility sector.

The announcement comes as EKA Mobility continues to operate in India's electric commercial vehicle segment, with a portfolio focused on electric buses and other commercial mobility applications.
