Eicher Trucks & Buses Partners with Pickkup to Deploy 100 Electric Commercial Vehicles

Eicher Trucks and Buses has announced a partnership with logistics provider Pickkup for the phased deployment of 100 Eicher Pro X EV small trucks across multiple markets.

The collaboration, announced on September 17, 2025, represents a significant move toward expanding electric vehicle adoption in India's commercial transportation sector.

The electric vehicles will be deployed in Pickkup's operations serving retail distributors, e-commerce companies, fast-moving consumer goods businesses, and perishable delivery services. The deployment will take place across Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru, two major metropolitan markets with high logistics demand.

Pickkup operates a fully electric four-wheeler fleet under an asset-light business model, serving major e-commerce platforms and logistics companies across India. The company has expanded its operations from its initial base in Mohali to include Delhi-NCR, Chandigarh, and Bangalore.

The Eicher Pro X EV trucks are manufactured at VE Commercial Vehicles' Industry 4.0-enabled facility in Bhopal. The vehicles feature fast-charging capability with CCS2 compatibility, designed to reduce turnaround times and increase fleet utilization.

The trucks are equipped with Eicher's Uptime Centre and My Eicher connected platform, providing fleet operators with predictive diagnostics and real-time support.

Abhishek Chaudhary, Senior Vice President of Small Commercial Vehicles at Eicher Trucks and Buses, stated that the partnership demonstrates growing readiness among logistics operators to integrate electric vehicles into their fleets.

The deployment reflects confidence in the company's electric vehicle technology and its ability to address operational requirements for environmental and economic sustainability.

Ankush Sharma, Founder and CEO of Pickkup, emphasized that the partnership aligns with the company's vision to decarbonize logistics while maintaining operational efficiency. The collaboration is expected to enable Pickkup to expand its service capacity and customer base more rapidly.

VE Commercial Vehicles Limited is a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Limited, operating since August 2008. The company encompasses Eicher-branded trucks and buses, Volvo buses, and exclusive distribution of Volvo trucks in India, along with engine manufacturing and component business operations.

The partnership reflects broader industry trends toward electrification of commercial vehicle fleets, particularly in urban delivery applications where environmental regulations and sustainability goals are driving adoption of zero-emission transportation solutions.
