Eicher Trucks and Buses enters small commercial vehicle segment with global unveil of EV-First Truck at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024

Eicher Trucks and Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles, made a significant entry into the Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) segment with the global unveiling of its EV-First Eicher Truck at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. This move reflects Eicher's commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable, and economically viable transportation solutions. The Pro Business Pro Planet range, spanning from 2T to 3.5T GVW, has been meticulously designed to transform city and near-city distribution, setting a new standard for last-mile logistics.

Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles Limited, emphasised the role of the SCV segment in India's growth, driven by rapid urbanisation, booming e-commerce, increased personal consumption, and the rise of hub-and-spoke distribution. He stated, "Eicher has a track record of delivering energy-efficient trucks, and with this announcement, we reaffirm our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions crucial for India’s sustainable growth in the coming years."

The Eicher SCV vehicle is set for customer trials in April 2024, with commercial rollout expected in Q1 2025. Demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and clean mobility, Eicher will introduce the electric variant first, followed by clean CNG and diesel variants. The product, designed and developed in India, will be manufactured at the state-of-the-art facility in Bhopal, aligning with the government's Make in India initiative.

To enhance the aftermarket experience, Eicher vehicles feature 100% connectivity through the Uptime Centre, utilising AI for remote diagnostics and minimising downtime. The extensive network comprises 850+ touchpoints, including 425+ authorised service centers and 8000+ retail centers, complemented by 'Eicher Site Support' at 240+ locations, offering seamless assistance. Eicher remains committed to comprehensive truck support, providing training, ensuring prompt parts delivery, and facilitating convenient annual maintenance contracts.
