Eicher secures 1,663 vehicle order from Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation
The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has placed an order for 1,663 buses and trucks from VE Commercial Vehicles, aiming to modernize its fleet and support infrastructure development.
VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has received an order for 1,621 buses and 42 heavy-duty trucks from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). The order comprises 1,344 non-air-conditioned buses, 197 air-conditioned buses, 80 CNG bus chassis, and 42 logistics trucks.
Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles Limited, stated that the order reinforces UPSRTC's confidence in the company's transportation solutions for light, medium, and heavy-duty operations.
The non-air-conditioned bus order includes Skyline Pro 3011 L and Skyline Pro 3010 L models, built on the company's 3000 series platform. These vehicles feature E494 and E474 BSVI engines designed for fuel efficiency.
The Eicher Pro 6016 CNG buses will be equipped with E694 CNG engines delivering 150 kW power, featuring high-capacity CNG tanks and Domex chassis. The order also includes Eicher Pro 3019 trucks powered by E494 engines for logistics and parts movement.
VECV, a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors established in 2008, offers connected vehicle technology and operates an Uptime Centre for vehicle diagnostics and support. The company provides customer support through certified workshops and extended warranties.
The order aligns with Uttar Pradesh government's infrastructure development initiatives and aims to modernize the state's public transportation services. Eicher's vehicles are equipped with telematics systems and the company maintains a network of service centers across India.
This procurement represents one of the larger orders received by Eicher in the commercial vehicle sector and adds to UPSRTC's fleet modernization efforts.
