Edel Assurance Offers Extended Warranties for Premium Cars in India

Edel Assurance, an extended vehicle warranty provider focused on premium and luxury cars in India, offers coverage for eligible mechanical and electrical components beyond the standard manufacturer warranty period. The company covers vehicles from brands including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Jaguar, Land Rover and Range Rover.

Founded a decade ago, the company provides extended warranty plans through authorised manufacturer workshops. The coverage is intended to address component failures after the original warranty expires, while motor insurance generally covers accident-related damage.

Edel Assurance offers warranty plans spanning three to 10 years, with policy costs varying according to the vehicle category. Annual plans typically range from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.5 lakh for entry-level premium cars and ₹7 lakh to ₹8 lakh for high-end models. Most customers opt for policies in the ₹2 lakh to ₹3 lakh range, according to the company.

Extended warranty coverage for premium vehicles

The company said its plans cover eligible mechanical and electrical components, with repairs or replacements carried out through authorised manufacturer workshops. Coverage and policy values are tailored to the vehicle category and the potential cost of component replacement.

Sujeet Nair, founder and CEO of Edel Assurance, said the company's plans are intended to provide additional coverage after the manufacturer's warranty expires. He also highlighted the need for vehicle owners to distinguish between motor insurance and extended warranties, particularly in relation to mechanical and electrical failures.
