Eco Fuel Systems has secured certification for 22 car models under the Bharat Stage VI emission norms, the company announced Monday. The Mumbai-based firm, which specializes in CNG and LPG vehicle conversion technology, has converted approximately one million vehicles and supplied over 400,000 sequential kits across India since its founding in 2003.

"Our mission has always been to combine innovation with environmental responsibility," said Virendra Vora, Founder and Chairman of Eco Fuel Systems. "We are proud to play a part in India's journey toward a cleaner future."

The company's products comply with both Indian and European standards, designed to improve vehicle performance while reducing environmental impact. With more than 400 dealerships throughout India, Eco Fuel Systems has expanded accessibility to its alternative fuel conversion technology.

Eco Fuel Systems has established partnerships with original equipment manufacturers for new vehicle installations and has worked with major fleet operators including Ola, Meru, and Tab Cab to support their transition to greener mobility options.

The company has completed several significant projects, including converting diesel boats to CNG under the Prime Minister's Ganga Cleanliness Project in Varanasi, installing CNG systems in over 8,000 Ola cabs, and converting more than 100 diesel heavy commercial vehicles for Reliance Industries to CNG.

The Bharat Stage emission standards, introduced by the Government of India in 2000, regulate air pollutants from vehicles. The BS VI norms, implemented in April 2020, represent the most stringent phase of these regulations and align with Euro 6 standards. They mandate significant reductions in particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, and other harmful emissions compared to previous standards.

India's push for cleaner fuel technology comes as the country faces increasing air pollution challenges in urban areas. Alternative fuel conversions represent one approach to reducing vehicle emissions while the electric vehicle market continues to develop infrastructure and affordability.

Eco Fuel Systems is the exclusive importer and distributor for Lovato Gas SpA products in India. Lovato is a brand of Landi Renzo, an Italian multinational company specializing in alternative fuel technologies for automotive applications.
