Ducati unveils the new Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 at EICMA 2024
Ducati introduces the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 in India, offering unmatched performance, advanced technology, and sleek design.
Ducati has introduced new models in its twin-cylinder bike lineup, the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2, featuring the latest Ducati V2 engine. These models, unveiled at EICMA, highlight Ducati’s focus on performance, offering a combination of lightness, sporty track capabilities, and road-riding enjoyment.
The Panigale V2 marks a significant step forward in Ducati’s sportbike development, being the lightest twin-cylinder Panigale to date. Weighing 15 kg less than the previous V2 S version, it is powered by a 90° V2 engine with variable valve timing (IVT), ensuring strong torque at low revs and robust performance at higher revs. The redesign includes a monocoque frame and improved ergonomics, making the bike more accessible to riders while retaining Ducati’s racing heritage. The V2 blends power, lightness, and ease of handling, offering an engaging experience on both the track and the road.
The design is influenced by the Panigale V4, with clean lines and a stylish fairing. The front features a Full-LED headlight with DRL, providing an assertive look. The rear of the bike integrates smoothly with the tank, drawing inspiration from the 916’s monolithic effect. The spoked wheels have been redesigned to evoke the iconic Marchesini three-spoke design. The exhaust system, featuring two silencers positioned under the seat, recalls the Panigale’s racing origins.
In terms of performance, the Panigale V2 combines high-performance track capabilities with comfort for road use. The 120 hp engine, lighter weight, and updated chassis design ensure a thrilling ride that is easy to handle.
The Streetfighter V2, Ducati’s lightest naked bike, takes the performance of the Panigale V2 and strips away the fairing, offering a raw and exhilarating ride. Weighing 175 kg, the bike is agile and stable, with the same 890 cc V2 engine producing 120 hp. The design emphasizes the mechanical beauty of the Panigale V2, with sharp lines and a sporty stance. The lack of a fairing enhances the rider’s connection to the bike, intensifying the adrenaline rush.
The design shares elements with the Panigale V2, including the fuel tank and alloy wheels. The front of the bike is bold and aggressive, featuring a Full-LED headlight with DRL, ensuring instant recognizability. The new frame, longer swingarm, and Sachs steering damper improve stability during high-speed cornering.
Riding the Streetfighter V2 offers an intuitive and lively experience, with a responsive engine that performs well on both the road and track. The lighter chassis and improved torque provide an agile and exciting ride, ideal for both everyday use and thrilling track sessions.
Both the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 are equipped with the new 890 cc, 120 hp, 90° V2 engine featuring variable valve timing. This Euro5+ homologated engine is the lightest twin-cylinder engine Ducati has produced, weighing only 54.5 kg. Its torque curve delivers 70% of the maximum torque at 3,000 rpm, ensuring impressive performance on both the road and track.
The Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 come with a lightweight monocoque frame and advanced suspension systems for enhanced stability and performance. Both models are fitted with fully adjustable Marzocchi forks and Kayaba shock absorbers, while the V2 S models feature Öhlins equipment for superior performance. The bikes also incorporate a six-axis IMU system and Ducati’s advanced electronics package, including cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and the new Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, all designed to improve safety and performance.
Ducati offers a variety of accessories for the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2, including a track package for performance enthusiasts and road-oriented options such as cruise control and a turn-by-turn navigation system. These bikes are compatible with the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS) and feature a new 5” TFT dashboard with customizable riding modes.
The new Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 will be available in India in 2025, offered in both V2 and V2 S versions, providing Ducati enthusiasts with exciting new options.
