VE Commercial Vehicles Limited recorded a 6.9 percent increase in total sales for April 2026. The company, a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, dispatched 7,318 units during the month, up from the 6,846 units sold in April 2025. This total sales volume encompasses both Eicher and Volvo branded trucks and buses. As April marks the beginning of the 2026 to 2027 financial year, the year to date figures directly mirror the monthly sales performance.
Total sales for Eicher branded vehicles stood at 7,159 units, reflecting a 6.6 percent growth over the 6,717 units recorded in the corresponding month last year. The domestic market drove this performance with an 8.6 percent increase, reaching 6,797 units compared to 6,257 units previously. Within the domestic segment, light and medium duty trucks under 18.5 tonnes grew by 17.9 percent to 3,243 units. Heavy duty trucks weighing 18.5 tonnes and above also saw positive momentum, increasing by 14.9 percent to 1,516 units. Conversely, domestic bus sales faced a downturn, with light and medium duty buses falling 2.5 percent to 1,976 units and heavy duty buses dropping 61.7 percent to 62 units.
The company reported a 21.3 percent decline in total exports, shipping 362 units in April 2026 compared to 460 units in the same month of the previous year. While heavy duty truck exports surged by 173.7 percent to 104 units, shipments of light and medium duty trucks fell by 24.2 percent to 226 units, and bus exports decreased by 74.2 percent to 32 units. Meanwhile, sales of Volvo trucks and buses registered a 23.3 percent growth, with volumes reaching 159 units against the 129 units recorded in April 2025.
