Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has formed a partnership with Gainwell Trucking Private Limited (GTPL) to serve as an authorized channel partner for BharatBenz mining trucks. The collaboration focuses on sales and after-sales service for the company's mining vehicle portfolio, particularly the 3532CM (8x4) model.
Under the agreement, GTPL will handle distribution across major mining states including North, East, and Northeast India, as well as Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. The partnership targets mining segments including iron ore, coal, and limestone operations along with their transportation requirements.
DICV, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, announced the partnership as part of its strategy to serve India's mining industry. The company positions mining as one of its core business pillars and aims to provide tailored solutions for both mining and infrastructure sectors.
The partnership includes comprehensive after-sales service through GTPL's service centers, which will offer maintenance and repair services, preventive programs, on-site repairs, and express service options. GTPL operates spare parts inventory at distribution centers located across mining regions to reduce vehicle downtime.
BharatBenz's 3532CM model features an OM926 engine that meets Bharat Stage VI – OBD-2 emission standards. The engine produces 236 kW (320 horsepower) at 2,200 RPM with peak torque of 1,250 Nm. The vehicle comes with loadbody options of either 18/19 cubic meter scoop configuration for overburden removal or 27 cubic meter box configuration for coal transport. Transmission options include both manual and automated manual transmission (AMT).
Rajiv Chaturvedi, President and Chief Business Officer at DICV, said the partnership addresses the mining industry's evolving needs while supporting infrastructure requirements. He noted that the collaboration aims to provide premium sales and service experiences with reduced operational disruptions.
Sunil Chaturvedi, Chairman and Managing Director of GTPL, stated that the partnership strengthens the company's presence in mining regions and aligns with providing complete customer solutions. GTPL is part of the Gainwell Group.
DICV indicated that the partnership may expand beyond the initial scope, maintaining focus on mining and infrastructure sectors. The collaboration represents DICV's continued investment in India's commercial vehicle market, particularly in specialized applications for heavy industry.
