DICV appoints Michael Moebius as President and Chief Procurement & Supply Chain Officer
With his appointment, DICV aims to adapt to the increasingly dynamic demands of the commercial vehicle market.
Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, appointed Michael Moebius as its new President and Chief Procurement & Supply Chain Officer, effective November 1, 2024. Moebius takes over from Muthu Maruthachalam C, bringing a wealth of over 30 years of global industry experience in both the passenger and commercial vehicle sectors.
Before this appointment, Michael Moebius served as the Head of Quality Management at Daimler Truck Asia (DTA) in Japan. In this role, he was responsible for quality assurance across multiple brands, including Mitsubishi Fuso, DICV, and PABCO, as well as overseeing several Complete Knocked Down (CKD) assembly locations globally.
His tenure saw notable improvements in product quality, reductions in warranty costs, and the implementation of innovative systems, such as the ‘Proactive Sensing’ initiative. This advanced data analytics solution aids in early failure detection, helping to streamline processes and enhance product reliability.
Moebius’s career with Daimler began in 1990, and over the decades, he has contributed significantly to various Daimler divisions, including Mercedes-Benz Cars and Daimler Buses. His extensive international experience spans regions such as Brazil, Vietnam, Iran, India, and Japan, where he has developed expertise in setting high standards for product and process quality. Between 2010 and 2016, Moebius played a crucial role at DICV, establishing quality benchmarks and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.
Satyakam Arya, Managing Director & CEO of DICV, said, “Michael’s proven expertise in driving quality, innovation, and operational excellence aligns seamlessly with our strategic vision. I am confident that under his leadership, we will build a more agile, efficient, and competitive supply chain positioning DICV to meet the evolving demands of the market with greater resilience and agility.”
Michael Moebius said, “(…)I am looking forward to elevating procurement and supply chain strategies, leveraging advanced technologies, strengthening supplier partnerships, and ensuring cost-effectiveness. I am excited to contribute to this new chapter of the company’s journey by enhancing resilience, fostering innovation, and supporting the company’s long-term vision.”
