Daimler India Commercial Vehicles inaugurated a new BharatBenz service center in Silchar, Assam, on April 20, 2026. The workshop is operated in partnership with PPS Trucking. The facility is designed to improve service accessibility for commercial vehicles operating in the Northeast region.

Located on the Silchar Bypass at Ram Nagar, the 30,000-square-foot facility includes eight fully equipped service bays. The center is staffed by 32 trained technicians and has the capacity to service up to 3,000 vehicles annually. Equipment at the site includes advanced diagnostic systems and genuine BharatBenz spare parts to facilitate routine maintenance and repairs. Furthermore, the center offers 24x7 roadside assistance utilizing a fleet of mobile service vans.

The Silchar workshop is geographically positioned to support logistics corridors connecting Assam to Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Commercial vehicle activity in the area is increasing due to infrastructure development projects such as the Asom Mala 3.0 program in the Barak Valley. Regional industrial demand is high due to limestone mining operations in the Dima Hasao district, which supply local cement production.

Rajiv Chaturvedi, President and Chief Business Officer at Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, stated that the facility will provide necessary after-sales support for fleet operators navigating the demanding route conditions of the Northeast. Rajiv Sanghvi, Managing Director of PPS Trucking, noted that the strategic location is intended to improve vehicle turnaround times and overall uptime for customers operating in the logistics region.
