Continental Tires India Names Nevin Aslan-Özkan as Managing Director
The internal appointment elevates a finance leader to the top role, as India remains a key growth market for the global tyre manufacturer amid rising passenger vehicle demand.
Continental Tires India has appointed Nevin Aslan-Özkan as its new Managing Director, effective April 6, 2026. She succeeds Samir Gupta, who stepped down from the position on April 5, 2026, for personal reasons.
Aslan-Özkan joined Continental in 2017 and has held several leadership roles across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region, with responsibilities spanning mergers and acquisitions, strategy, and business development. Since May 2025, she served as Chief Financial Officer for Continental Tires India, where she oversaw the company's financial strategy and performance.
In her new role, Aslan-Özkan will lead Continental's growth strategy in India, with particular focus on expanding the company's footprint in the passenger vehicle segment.
"India continues to be a strong focus market for Continental Tires. Guided by our 'In the Market, For the Market' approach, we will continue to deliver products and technologies designed for Indian roads," said Aslan-Özkan.
Outgoing Managing Director Samir Gupta joined Continental in 2012 and led the Indian operations since January 2022. During his tenure, he is credited with strengthening the brand's presence across the country.
The transition comes as Continental Tires India has been scaling its market activity. The company recently launched the CrossContact A/T² — a new tyre for Indian SUV and 4x4 drivers — making India the first market globally to receive the product.
