Citroen launches C3 Aircross Dhoni Edition at Rs 11.82 lakh
The limited-run model gets new seat covers, illuminated door sills, front dashcam.
Citroen has brought out a new special edition for its midsize SUV, called the C3 Aircross Dhoni Edition. Priced from Rs 11.82 lakh, the Dhoni Edition is available in multiple variants, five- and seven-seat configurations, and comes with manual and automatic gearbox options. This special edition model is limited to a 100 units, and adds minor exterior and interior changes over the standard C3 Aircross.
The exterior of the C3 Aircross Dhoni Edition gets a new decal along the side with the cricketer’s name and his chosen number – 7. On the inside, the limited-run model features new colour-coordinated seat covers and cushion pillows, seat belt cushions, illuminated door sill plates and a front dash cam.
In addition, Citroen says that every Dhoni Edition will include a special ‘Dhoni goodie’ in the glove box, with one lucky winner receiving signed glove by Dhoni himself.
In every other aspect, the Dhoni Edition is the same as the standard C3 Aircross. It is powered by a 110hp, 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which comes with 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options.
This isn’t the first time a famous cricketer has tied up with a carmaker. Way back in 2002, Fiat joined hands with Sachin Tendulkar to bring out the Palio S10. This limited-run model (only 500 were produced, and each got an aluminium plaque denoting its serial number) came with a number of cosmetic updates outside – from an exclusive colour and Sachin’s autograph to a rear spoiler and new alloy wheels – and inside.
