Citroen has opened bookings for the recently revealed eC3 for a token amount of Rs 25,000. Interested buyers can book the EV from Citroen dealerships or through the brand's official website. The eC3 is an electric version of the C3 high-riding hatchback and comes in two variants – Live and Feel. It will be available in showrooms from February.

Powertrain, range and charging
The Citroen eC3 comes equipped with a 29.2kWh battery pack that powers the front axle-mounted electric motor to produce 57hp and 143Nm of peak torque. This output allows the electric hatchback to accelerate from 0-60kph in a claimed 6.8sec and achieve a claimed top speed of 107kph. Citroen has also equipped the eC3 electric with two driving modes – Eco and Standard – along with regenerative braking.

When it comes to range, the eC3 offers an ARAI-rated 320km. The EV gets two charging options, the first being a DC fast charger that can charge the battery pack from 10 percent to 80 percent in a claimed 57 minutes. The second is a 3.3kW onboard AC charger that is also capable of CCS2 fast charging. Meanwhile, with the help of a home charger, the battery can be topped-up from 10 percent to 100 percent in 10.5 hours.

Variants and features
Similar to the petrol-powered C3, the eC3 electric is also being offered in two variants – Live and Feel. The features on the eC3 are also similar to the ICE model, with the higher-spec Feel getting a 10.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a four-speaker audio system and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. The eC3 additionally gets connected car tech, courtesy of the MyCitroen Connect app. It lets you check the car’s charging status, its location and navigate to the nearest charging station. As far as safety features go, it gets dual airbags and ABS with EBD.

Warranty details
The French automaker is offering a 7 year/1,40,000km warranty on the battery pack, a 5 year/1,00,000km warranty on the electric motor and a 3 year/1,25,000km warranty on the electric hatchback itself.

The eC3 is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh-12 lakh and will take on the Tata Tiago EV, which commands a price range of Rs 8.49 lakh-11.79 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
