Chetak Electric scooter bookings reach 20,000 in July 2024

Bajaj Auto Ltd. reports that bookings for their Chetak Electric Scooter brand have reached 20,000 in July 2024. This increase is attributed to the introduction of a new variant and expansion of the dealership network into smaller towns.

Bajaj Auto began producing the Chetak Electric at its Chakan plant on September 25, 2019. The initial launch of the scooter took place in January 2020, with sales commencing through select KTM dealerships in Pune (4 dealerships) and Bangalore (13 dealerships).

The newly launched Chetak 2901 model, priced starting at 95,998/- (ex-showroom Bangalore), features a metal body construction. The Chetak Electric Scooter is now available at approximately 2000 sales outlets across India, including Chetak Experience Centers and Bajaj dealerships.

The Chetak 2901, the most affordable model in the Chetak lineup, offers a range of 123 km. It includes features such as a Colored Digital Console, Alloy Wheels, and Bluetooth Connectivity. An optional Lifetime Tec Pac upgrade enables additional features like Hill Hold, Reverse, Sport and Economy modes, Call and Music Control, 'Follow Me Home' lights, and Bluetooth App connectivity.

The Chetak 2901 is available in five colors: Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow, and Azure Blue.

The Chetak portfolio now consists of three models. Bajaj Auto Ltd. states that this range is contributing to industry consolidation and is positioned to lead development in rural and small-town India.
