Chartered Speed and EKA Mobility have partnered to deploy 1,135 electric buses under the Government of India's Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme, the companies announced on August 19, 2025. The deployment will serve over 3.6 lakh passengers daily across seven states and union territories while generating over 2,500 jobs.

The companies secured a Letter of Confirmation of Quantity (LOCQ) for 235 buses, adding to an earlier confirmation of 900 buses across India. Chartered Speed will procure, operate, and maintain the 235-bus fleet across four states: 110 buses in Madhya Pradesh, 60 in Odisha, 35 in Chhattisgarh, and 30 in Meghalaya.

"Chartered Speed's vision is to transform everyday travel through clean, efficient and inclusive public transport," said Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director, Chartered Speed. "This allocation under the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme, along with our partnership with EKA Mobility, is a significant step in that direction. It reflects our commitment to creating reliable mobility solutions that ease commuting, support local communities and contribute to India's green mobility mission."

Rohit Srivastava, Business Head and Chief Growth Officer, EKA Mobility, said, "EKA Mobility's mission has always been to make clean, safe, and efficient mobility accessible to all. Through the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme and our collaboration with Chartered Speed, we are proud to deploy 1,135 electric buses that will serve lakhs of citizens every day. Every bus we put on the road is a step towards reimagining India's cities making them smarter, greener, and more people centric."

The partnership combines Chartered Speed's operational experience with EKA Mobility's electric vehicle manufacturing expertise. Chartered Speed will supply and operate the electric buses for intracity travel across seven states and union territories: Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Meghalaya, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

Chartered Speed Limited, established in 2010, operates over 2,000 buses and serves more than 3.5 lakh passengers daily. The company provides city and intercity bus services under government contracts, staff and school transportation, and long-distance intercity travel.

EKA Mobility (Pinnacle Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd.) has equity partners including Pinnacle Industries Limited, Mitsui Co., Ltd. (Japan), and VDL Groep (Netherlands). The company focuses on commercial vehicle electric mobility solutions with modular designs and lean manufacturing processes.
