ChargeZone Fresh Bus Partnership Expands to 500 Electric Buses
The expanded partnership will add 400 electric buses to the Fresh Bus fleet supported by ChargeZone, alongside 30 MW of new dedicated charging capacity.
ChargeZone and Fresh Bus have expanded their existing partnership, with Fresh Bus set to deploy an additional 400 all-electric buses on ChargeZone’s charging network. The expansion will take the Fresh Bus fleet supported by ChargeZone infrastructure from 100 to 500 buses.
The expanded operations are planned over the next 15 months and will connect 20 cities and cover 17 additional towns across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
ChargeZone To Add 30 MW Of Charging Capacity
ChargeZone will deploy 30 MW of new charging capacity for the expanded Fresh Bus fleet, in addition to the 10 MW of dedicated infrastructure already deployed for the network. This will take the total dedicated charging capacity for Fresh Bus to 40 MW.
The additional capacity will also contribute to ChargeZone’s broader plan to add 200 MW of charging capacity across its national network, according to the companies.
At full scale, the partnership is estimated to deliver 100 million units of energy annually and support more than 20,000 passenger journeys per day. The companies estimate that the expanded network could reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 9,000-10,000 tonnes annually.
ChargeZone, Fresh Bus Expand Intercity EV Operations
ChargeZone founder and CEO Kartikey Hariyani said the expansion reflects the role of commercial mobility in scaling electric vehicle adoption.
“Commercial mobility, particularly intercity public transport, can play a critical role in taking electrification to scale,” Hariyani said.
Fresh Bus founder Sudhakar Reddy said the expanded fleet would increase the scale of its electric intercity operations, citing charging infrastructure as a key requirement for operating buses across multiple corridors.
ChargeZone says it operates more than 15,000 charging points across more than 1,200 locations in India and the UAE. Fresh Bus operates an all-electric intercity bus service in India.
