ChargeZone Expands to Become India's Largest EV Charging Network
Indian company reaches 13,500 charging stations through partnerships, creating an interoperable network serving 70% of the country's electric vehicle users.
ChargeZone has established itself as India's largest electric vehicle charging platform with a network expansion to over 13,500 charging stations nationwide, the company announced today. The milestone comes as part of the company's efforts to support India's transition to clean mobility.
The expansion was achieved through OCPI-based roaming partnerships with multiple EV infrastructure providers including Statiq, Bolt, Kazam, Pulse Energy, Chargemod, ElectreeFi, and Evnnovator. These collaborations have created one of India's first large-scale interoperable charging networks, allowing EV users to access chargers from all participating platforms through a single application.
"We're creating the digital backbone of India's EV ecosystem," said Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO of ChargeZone. "Through collaborative partnerships and deep tech integration, we're laying the foundation for a clean mobility future."
The network now supports more than 8,000 EV users daily and has recorded 250,000 app downloads. According to company data, nearly 70% of India's electric car population has used the platform during their EV ownership.
ChargeZone's infrastructure includes both AC chargers (3.3kW, 7.4kW, and 10kW) for urban use and DC fast chargers (30kW to 360kW) for highways and transit hubs. The high-capacity options allow compatible vehicles to reach 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes.
The company has established charging points at over 400 locations across India and the UAE, covering metro cities, tier-2 towns, highways, and intercity corridors.
India's electric vehicle sector has seen significant growth in recent years, supported by government initiatives including the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme and production-linked incentives. The country aims to reach 30% electric vehicle sales by 2030 as part of its broader climate goals.
Founded in Vadodara, Gujarat, ChargeZone specializes in smart-grid-enabled charging infrastructure for electric cars, buses, and trucks. The company has stated its long-term goal is to establish one million charging points nationwide.
The expansion represents a significant development for India's EV charging infrastructure, which has been identified as a critical factor in consumer adoption of electric vehicles. Range anxiety and charging accessibility have remained persistent concerns for potential EV buyers in the country, issues that expanded networks like ChargeZone's aim to address.
