ChargeZone, a prominent EV charging network provider in India, has announced the appointment of Pritesh Kumar as its Director of Business Development. With nearly two decades of experience in the automotive industry, Kumar will be responsible for driving the company’s strategic initiatives, expanding its EV charging network, enhancing customer engagement strategies, and fostering partnerships within the EV ecosystem.
In his new role, Kumar will work on strengthening ChargeZone’s B2B and B2C operations, optimizing network usage through marketing and customer relationship management campaigns, and scaling Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) solutions. He will also focus on improving infrastructure efficiency and increasing the accessibility of ChargeZone’s services across the country.
Commenting on the appointment, Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO of ChargeZone, stated that Pritesh Kumar’s expertise and strategic vision will play a vital role in the company’s efforts to expand its EV infrastructure in India. Hariyani highlighted Kumar’s proven ability to build partnerships and drive network growth as key factors in ChargeZone’s plans to meet the increasing demand for EV charging solutions.
Pritesh Kumar’s career includes leadership roles in business development, institutional sales, channel expansion, and strategic marketing. At Mahindra & Mahindra, he led institutional sales and launched initiatives to target alternative business segments, improve product resale value, and develop rural market channels. He also managed significant government contracts, including a deal with the Indian Army.
Expressing enthusiasm for his new role, Kumar remarked that ChargeZone’s focus on sustainable and scalable EV charging infrastructure aligns with his professional objectives. He intends to leverage his experience to foster strategic alliances, drive innovation, and enhance customer experiences in the EV sector.
ChargeZone is actively expanding its high-speed charging network to cater to electric buses, trucks, and personal vehicles. The company aims to establish 25 supercharging stations this fiscal year, targeting a total of 500 stations with capacities between 360KW and 1.2MW. Over the next six months, it plans to deploy additional high-speed chargers to improve accessibility and charging speed for four-wheeler EVs.
The company’s strategy focuses on efficient station placement, route planning, and user convenience, supported by mobile app integration and multiple payment options. Safety measures include 24/7 surveillance, emergency support, remote monitoring, and regular inspections.
ChargeZone has electrified 30,000 kilometers of highways and installed 1,000 charging stations, creating a robust ecosystem for EV adoption. It has also formed partnerships with leading automotive brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, and Switch Mobility to strengthen its position in sustainable mobility solutions.
