CEAT Limited has been honored with the Sword of Honour, presented to companies exhibiting exceptional prowess in the management of health and safety risks in the workplace, by the British Safety Council for two of its facilities, CEAT's Chennai plant and CEAT Specialty's Ambernath plant.

In order to compete for the Sword of Honour an organisation first had to achieve the maximum five stars in British Safety Council’s [health and safety] management audit scheme. The qualification period for this was between 1 August 2022 and 31 July 2023. The organisation has also demonstrated to an independent panel of experts that it has achieved excellence in its health and safety throughout the business – from the shop floor to the boardroom.

Peter McGettrick, Chairman of British Safety Council, said “On behalf of the board of trustees and staff of the British Safety Council I would like to congratulate CEAT on achieving the highest standards of its health and safety management. These awards recognise the commitment, dedication and absolute professionalism undertaken.”

Jayasankar Kuruppal, Senior Vice President, Manufacturing, CEAT, commented “CEAT places health and safety as an integral part of our operations, and this accolade reaffirms our unwavering dedication to ensuring the well-being of our employees, the satisfaction of our customers, and the protection of our assets. We remain committed to upholding these high standards of health and safety”
