CEAT appoints Debashish Roy as Chief Digital Transformation Officer

CEAT, a prominent tyre manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Debashish Roy as its Chief Digital Transformation Officer, effective December 2, 2024. He will report to Amit Tolani, Chief Executive of CEAT Specialty, and will focus on enhancing the company’s digital innovation, customer-centric initiatives, and technological advancements.

Debashish Roy brings over 15 years of experience in digital transformation, with expertise in driving innovation, developing new business models, and utilizing data analytics. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) degree and a management degree in IT & Operations from IIM Mumbai.

Throughout his career, Roy has worked with multicultural teams across regions including India, North America, Europe, and Emerging Asia. His previous roles include positions at Abbott India Ltd., PwC US Advisory, and Cognizant Business Consulting, where he led large-scale transformation programs aimed at sustainable revenue growth. Before joining CEAT, he served as Director of Digital Transformation & Customer Experience at Pfizer Ltd., where he introduced advanced digital and IT solutions to enhance the company’s digital infrastructure.

His expertise spans digital and IT strategy, program management, data analytics, product and process innovation, change management, and omnichannel customer experiences. Additionally, he has been involved in fostering ecosystem partnerships and managing cross-functional teams.

Roy has received several recognitions for his work in the field, including the CX Leader Award at the 11th Global Edition of the World CX Summit & Awards in 2024 and the Leading CIO of the Year Award at the CII CIO Excellence Awards in 2023. In the same year, he was honored with the Economic Times CX Inspiring Leaders Award, and in 2022, he received the Innovator’s Award at the BIG CIO Show and Awards, supported by NITI Aayog.

Amit Tolani, Chief Executive of CEAT Specialty, expressed confidence in Roy’s appointment, noting that his expertise aligns with CEAT’s goal of leveraging technology to enhance customer experiences and drive growth in the industry.

On his new role, Debashish Roy stated that he is eager to contribute to CEAT’s growth through technology-driven innovation and collaboration. He emphasized his commitment to fostering a sustainable growth path and enhancing CEAT’s position in digital innovation.
