Castrol India Limited on 9 April 2026 announced the upgrade of its Castrol Activ and Castrol GTX engine oil ranges to full synthetic formulations across select viscosities, making advanced lubricant technology available to a broader base of Indian consumers.

In the two-wheeler segment, the company has added Castrol Activ Full Synthetic 10W-30 and 5W-30 to its existing Activ range. The company states the new formulations deliver 20% improved protection across the engine, clutch, and gearbox. Existing viscosities, including 20W-40, will remain available. The launch coincides with the silver jubilee year of the Castrol Activ brand.

In the four-wheeler segment, Castrol GTX 5W-30 has been upgraded to a full synthetic formulation, and a new GTX Full Synthetic 0W-20 has been introduced to address the growing low-viscosity segment. The GTX range joins Castrol's existing full synthetic four-wheeler portfolio, which includes Castrol MAGNATEC and Castrol EDGE.

"At Castrol, we closely track how consumer needs and mobility patterns are evolving. We respond with advanced lubricant technologies designed to keep pace with these changes," said Kaushik Vedula, VP Marketing, Castrol India Limited. "By transitioning Castrol Activ and Castrol GTX to full synthetic, we are enabling stronger engine protection and more consistent performance in real world usage, making advanced engine care more accessible for Indian consumers."

The full range will be available across Castrol India's network of over 150,000 retail outlets nationwide, as well as on Amazon and Flipkart.
