Calderys officially inaugurated its new manufacturing plant in Odisha on April 8, 2026. The site is recognized as the largest single site greenfield facility globally for refractories and steel casting fluxes.

The facility has already commissioned its first two production lines. The acidic monolithics line began commercial production in May 2025, and the basic monolithics line followed in November 2025. Additional lines for acidic and basic bricks, steel casting fluxes, and taphole clays are currently under development and are scheduled to become operational later in 2026.

Spanning 45 acres, the plant will eventually house six advanced production lines. It is strategically positioned to serve India's fast growing iron and steel, cement, aluminum, petrochemical, energy, and foundry sectors. Upon completion, the facility is expected to generate 350 skilled jobs.

The plant incorporates several sustainability features including solar energy integration, clean fuel use, dust emission control, rainwater harvesting, zero water discharge systems, and a 33 percent green cover across the site. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Minister of Odisha, alongside other state officials and industry representatives.
