BYD Introduces Model Year 2025 Upgrades for SEAL and ATTO 3 in India

BYD India announced significant upgrades to its SEAL luxury sedan and ATTO 3 SUV models on Tuesday, marking the first anniversary of the SEAL in the Indian market. The enhancements focus on performance, comfort, and technology improvements across both vehicle lines.

The ATTO 3, which has sold over 3,100 units since launch, will receive an all-black interior with ventilated front seats and an upgraded Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) low-voltage battery. According to BYD, this battery offers six times lighter weight compared to conventional options, five times better self-discharge consumption, and an extended lifespan of 15 years.

As part of anniversary celebrations, BYD is offering the first 3,000 ATTO 3 Model Year 2025 customers the vehicle at 2024 ex-showroom prices, starting at ₹24.99 lakh for the Dynamic variant with a 49.92kWh battery and rising to ₹33.99 lakh for the Superior variant with a 60.48kWh battery.

The SEAL sedan, which has sold approximately 1,300 units in its first year, receives multiple updates including a standard power sunshade, silver-plated dimming canopy, upgraded air conditioning system with enhanced purification, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Technical upgrades to the SEAL include Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD) on the Premium variant and the new DiSus-C intelligent damping system on the Performance trim, which adjusts suspension characteristics in real-time based on driving conditions. Bookings for the SEAL 2025 open March 11 with a ₹1,25,000 deposit, though pricing will not be announced until April.

"The enhancements represent a significant step forward in our commitment to the Indian market," said Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India. "Keeping innovation and technology as the core, we have delivered upgrades that enhance every aspect of the driving experience."

BYD, which stands for Build Your Dreams, is among the world's largest electric vehicle manufacturers. The company entered the Indian passenger vehicle market in 2021 and has since expanded its portfolio to include the recently introduced SEALION 7, alongside the ATTO 3, eMAX 7, and SEAL models.

The SEAL has garnered multiple awards in India, including the Times Network Award for EV Sedan of the Year and Autocar Award for Premium EV of the Year. Internationally, it received the iF Design Award and was shortlisted among the top three finalists for "World Car of the Year" at the 2024 Geneva Motor Show.

The upgraded models will be available at BYD dealerships across India starting March 11, 2025.
