BYD India Unveils 2025 SEAL Electric Sedan Starting at ₹41 Lakh

BYD India has announced pricing for its 2025 Model Year SEAL electric sedan starting at ₹41,00,000 (ex-showroom), following strong customer interest in the luxury vehicle that first debuted in March 2024.

The company has introduced three variants of the electric sedan - the Dynamic (RWD) with a 61.44 kWh battery priced at ₹41,00,000, the Premium (RWD) with an 82.56 kWh battery at ₹45,70,000, and the Performance (AWD) with an 82.56 kWh battery priced at ₹53,15,000.

The 2025 BYD SEAL features several technological upgrades, including the longer-lasting Lithium Iron Phosphate low voltage battery, which is reportedly six times lighter than conventional batteries with a 15-year lifespan. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.

Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India, stated that the enhancements in the 2025 model reflect the company's focus on "ride comfort, cabin experience, and smart convenience" based on customer feedback.

The Performance trim introduces the Disus-C intelligent damping system, which adjusts suspension settings in real-time based on road conditions. Meanwhile, the Premium variant now comes with Frequency Selective Dampers, a feature previously limited to the Performance model.

Interior improvements include a power sunshade, silver-plated dimming canopy, upgraded air conditioning with enhanced purification capabilities, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity across all variants.

The BYD SEAL has received multiple awards both in India and internationally, including the Times Network Award for EV Sedan of the Year, Autocar Award for Premium EV of the Year, and was among the top three finalists for "World Car of the Year" at the 2024 Geneva Motor Show.

BYD India, established in 2007, operates two factories with an investment exceeding $200 million. As part of BYD, which became the global leader in new energy vehicle sales in 2024 with 4.27 million units worldwide, the company currently offers four electric vehicles in India: the SEALION 7, eMAX 7, SEAL, and ATTO 3.

The company has expanded its presence in India with a network of 40 dealerships across the country, demonstrating its commitment to the growing electric vehicle market through continued innovation and product development.
