BYD India has announced a price increase for its SEALION 7 electric SUV effective January 1, 2026, while offering customers a window to purchase at existing prices until the end of this year.

The company, a subsidiary of the world's leading New Energy Vehicle manufacturer, confirmed that bookings made on or before December 31, 2025 will honour the current ex-showroom pricing. The SEALION 7 is presently available in two variants: the Premium model at ₹48.90 lakh and the Performance version at ₹54.90 lakh.

Since its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the electric SUV has registered over 2,000 sales in India, indicating strong market acceptance in the premium EV segment.

The announcement comes as BYD India continues expanding its retail presence, now operating 47 showrooms across 40 cities nationwide.

The SEALION 7 features BYD's proprietary iTAC and Cell to Body technology, with an 82.56 kWh battery pack integrated into the chassis structure. The Performance variant delivers 390 kW of power and achieves 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.5 seconds, while offering a range of 542 kilometers. The Premium variant produces 230 kW and provides a slightly longer range of 567 kilometers, both measured under NEDC test conditions.

The vehicle has earned a 5-Star NCAP safety rating and measures 4,830 mm in length with a 2,930 mm wheelbase.

BYD's parent company has sold over 14 million New Energy Vehicles globally and ranks 91st in the 2025 Fortune Global 500, with a brand valuation of $14.4 billion according to Kantar BrandZ. In 2024, BYD sold 4.27 million NEVs worldwide, representing a year-on-year growth of 41.26 percent.
