BYD has achieved a significant milestone in the Indian market with the delivery of its 10,000th electric vehicle, marking a notable achievement for the company's operations in the country.
The milestone delivery was celebrated at an event in New Delhi, with company executives highlighting the achievement as evidence of growing consumer acceptance of electric vehicles in India. BYD India currently operates through a network of 44 dealership outlets across major Indian cities.
Market Position and Global Context
BYD, which positions itself as the world's leading New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, has sold over 13 million NEVs globally. The company reports that its vehicles have contributed to saving more than 106.52 billion kilograms of carbon emissions as of July 2024, which it equates to the CO₂ absorption capacity of approximately 1.77 billion trees.
