BYD India Launches Limited-Edition SEALION 7 at ₹50.60 Lakh

BYD India has launched the SEALION 7 Festive Edition, a limited run of 150 units of its electric SUV priced at ₹50.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The edition is based on the existing SEALION 7 Premium variant and is distinguished primarily by a Tan & Black interior, replacing the standard cabin colour option. The launch is timed to coincide with India's festive season, a period that has historically driven a significant share of passenger vehicle sales in the country.

The Festive Edition carries over the mechanical and feature specifications of the Premium variant without change. Power comes from an 82.56 kWh Blade Battery, supported by BYD's Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, which integrates the battery pack into the vehicle's structural frame, and Intelligence Torque Adaption Control (iTAC), an electronic system that adjusts torque distribution between wheels.

The powertrain produces 230 kW and 380 Nm of torque, with a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 6.7 seconds. BYD claims a range of 567 km under the NEDC test cycle, though real-world figures typically vary from manufacturer-stated numbers under that standard.

On the interior, the Festive Edition features a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, quilted Nappa leather seats, a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade, and a heads-up display — all carried over from the standard Premium trim. The Tan & Black colour scheme is the sole addition specific to this edition. Safety equipment includes 11 airbags, and the SEALION 7 holds a 5-Star rating from Euro NCAP, the European vehicle safety assessment body whose ratings are referenced by several automakers operating in the Indian market.

The SEALION 7 was introduced in India in 2025 and sits in the premium electric SUV segment, a category that has seen growing competition from both domestic and international manufacturers. BYD India says more than 4,500 units of the SEALION 7 are currently in operation across the country. The model has received a number of industry recognitions in 2026, including Luxury Mid-size SUV of the Year at the ACKO Drive TOTM 2026, Premium EV of the Year at the car&bike Awards 2026, Premium SUV of the Year at the TV9 Awards, and Best EV Design at the CarBike360 Auto Excellence Awards 2026. BYD's Blade Battery technology was separately recognised as the Best New EV Battery Technology at the same CarBike360 event.

At ₹50.60 lakh ex-showroom, the Festive Edition is priced at a modest premium to the standard SEALION 7 Premium, with the difference attributable to the interior change rather than any mechanical upgrade. Given the production cap of 150 units, availability is expected to be concentrated among BYD India's existing dealership network.
