BYD India Launches CSR Programme Focused on Education and Healthcare Infrastructure
The electric vehicle manufacturer partners with FEEED NGO to improve school facilities and hospital equipment in Kancheepuram district, alongside environmental initiatives, as part of its community development strategy launched January 28, 2026.
BYD India has initiated a corporate social responsibility programme targeting improvements in education and healthcare infrastructure, working in collaboration with FEEED NGO.
The programme, launched on January 28, 2026, was officially handed over to Kalaiselvi Mohan, District Collector and District Magistrate of Kancheepuram, by BYD senior officials.
The initiative encompasses three primary areas: school development, hospital equipment provision, and environmental activities. Under the education component, BYD India will support a government school by upgrading campus infrastructure and providing learning tools. The interventions aim to improve safety, accessibility, and learning conditions for students and educators.
In healthcare, the company is providing advanced hospital beds to a government hospital in Kancheepuram district to enhance patient care capabilities and treatment conditions.
A plantation drive complements these efforts, representing the programme's environmental component carried out with partner NGOs.
Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India, stated that the company's sustainability approach extends beyond manufacturing to community engagement. The CSR initiatives focus on strengthening foundational infrastructure through structured, on-ground action in partnership with experienced organizations.
FEEED NGO described the collaboration as enabling impact-driven initiatives that respond directly to community requirements, reflecting a commitment to creating long-term value.
BYD India operates 47 showrooms across 40 cities nationally. The company is a subsidiary of BYD, which has sold over 14 million new energy vehicles globally and contributed to reducing more than 121 billion kilograms of CO₂ emissions as of November 30, 2025.
