Bridgestone India has announced a leadership transition, with Rajarshi Moitra set to assume the role of Managing Director effective January 1, 2026.
Moitra, who currently serves as Deputy Managing Director, will succeed Hiroshi Yoshizane, who has led Bridgestone India since January 2024. Yoshizane will be promoted to Vice President and Senior Officer of Bridgestone Corporation while continuing as Group President of Bridgestone Asia Pacific, India, China (BSAPIC), a position he has held since May 2025.
The outgoing Managing Director will also retain his positions as Chairman of the Board of Bridgestone India and Vice Chairman of the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association, India's national industry body for the automotive tyre sector.
Moitra brings over 20 years of experience in business strategy, profit centre management, sales and marketing, and organizational transformation. He joined Bridgestone India in 2019 to lead the Consumer business and has since expanded his responsibilities to include Consumer & Commercial Business, Solution Business, and Logistics & Supply Chain Management. He was appointed Executive Director for Sales & Marketing in June 2024 before being elevated to Deputy Managing Director in May 2025.
"I'm deeply honored to take on the role of Managing Director and to continue supporting our teams at Bridgestone India," Moitra said in a statement. He emphasized his commitment to working in alignment with Bridgestone's mission of "Serving Society with Superior Quality" while serving customers, OEM partners, and communities.
Yoshizane reflected on his tenure at Bridgestone India, highlighting the team's achievements in strengthening business operations, expanding market presence, and enhancing safety and quality standards. "The team's strong commitment to serving customers and communities has created a solid foundation for continued success," he said, expressing confidence in Moitra's leadership.
Under the new leadership structure, Bridgestone India plans to continue its transformation toward becoming a sustainable solutions company, guided by the "Bridgestone E8 Commitment." This corporate framework focuses on eight values beginning with the letter "E"—Energy, Ecology, Efficiency, Extension, Economy, Emotion, Ease, and Empowerment—aimed at realizing a sustainable society.
Bridgestone India, which began operations in 1996, has grown to become one of the country's leading tyre companies in both OEM and replacement markets. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Kheda, Madhya Pradesh, and Chakan, Pune, with its Indore plant producing its 100 millionth tyre in 2023.
