BorgWarner, a Michigan-based mobility solutions supplier, on April 22, 2026, announced a seven-year contract extension to supply eight families of controllers — covering engine, machine, power module, and battery management systems — to an unnamed world-leading off-highway manufacturer, with the agreement running through December 2032.
The contract spans applications across construction vehicles, marine platforms, and stationary power systems, and extends a supply relationship the company describes as spanning several decades. The undisclosed OEM is not named in the announcement.
Dr. Stefan Demmerle, Vice President of BorgWarner Inc. and President and General Manager, PowerDrive Systems, said, "BorgWarner has an outstanding relationship with this leading off-highway manufacturer, a customer we have been supplying critical parts to for several decades, and we are thrilled to continue to grow with them as their volumes increase for various market segments and applications. This contract expansion validates our position as a trusted, long-term propulsion partner that is agile enough to support them and provide tailored solutions as they expand into new, emerging markets."
Under the contract, BorgWarner will supply engine controllers engineered for efficient combustion and reduced emissions in large diesel applications, machine controllers that process operator inputs to direct actuators in excavation and construction environments, power module controllers for electric machines, and battery management system controllers — covering both conventional and electrified powertrain requirements.
Founded over 130 years ago, BorgWarner operates as a global supplier of automotive and mobility components with a stated focus on sustainable propulsion technologies.
