BMW Opens Pre-orders in India for Limited

BMW India and BMW Motorrad India announced that pre-orders are open for the "100 Jahre Nürburgring" editions, a limited-run series marking the 100th anniversary of the Nürburgring racetrack in Germany in 2027. Customers can place pre-orders with the authorised dealers of the respective brands from today.

The series comprises five cars and one motorcycle: the BMW M2 Coupé, M3 Sedan, M4 Coupé, M5 Sedan, M5 Touring and the BMW Motorrad M 1000 R. The M5 Touring will be offered in India for the first time. The companies said the editions would be produced in limited numbers.

BMW said the Touring body style has a following among enthusiasts internationally. The company said the M5 Touring's launch gives Indian customers their first opportunity to experience the M division's Touring concept.

BMW's Nürburgring History and 24 Hours Record

The editions celebrate BMW's history at the track. BMW says it is the most successful manufacturer at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, with 21 overall victories, and that every BMW M model is tested on the circuit's Nordschleife before it reaches the road.

BMW Nürburgring Edition Design and Colours

All five cars are offered in one of two finishes: Nürburgring Green, a colour BMW says was developed only for this series, or Sapphire Black metallic with green accents. The design details are inspired by the circuit's nickname, the "Green Hell". The design package includes a "100 Years" logo, the wording "Nürburgring since 1927" and a silhouette of the circuit. Green is used across the range as the common visual element, while graphics, materials and accent colours vary by model.

Nürburgring Edition Interior: Alcantara Wheel and M Carbon Bucket Seats

Inside, the cars have black interiors with green and white stitching and edition-specific door sills. The three inline six-cylinder models, the M2, M3 and M4, are fitted with an M Alcantara steering wheel that carries matching stitching and a marker at the 12 o'clock position. They also get M Carbon bucket seats with BMW Individual upholstery and carbon fibre trim. The two M5 models have an M steering wheel with the same design details.

M2, M3, M4, M5 and M5 Touring: How the Editions Differ

The cars differ in the following respects:

  • M2 xDrive: The compact model in the series. It has an inline six-cylinder engine, an M carbon roof, M carbon bucket seats, edition paintwork and graphics.
  • M3 Competition xDrive: BMW describes this as the all-new M3. The edition has Nürburgring graphics, an M carbon roof and green accents on the wheels. It also has BMW M Ignite, which the company says is intended to optimise operation under high load.
  • M4 Competition xDrive: The two-door model has an M carbon roof, BMW M stripes and edition-specific accents. It also has BMW M Ignite.
  • M5 Sedan: The sedan uses a hybrid drive that BMW calls M HYBRID. The edition has an M carbon roof, a light-alloy wheel with green accents and black "Nordschleife" embroidery.
  • M5 Touring: The Touring also uses the M HYBRID drive. It has a steel roof, which carries stripes in an exclusive design.

BMW M 1000 R 100 Jahre Nürburgring Edition

BMW Motorrad India will bring a limited number of the M 1000 R, which the company classifies as a hyper naked bike, to the country as part of the anniversary series. The edition has a painted fuel tank with the Nürburgring silhouette, an airbox cover in the anniversary design with an individual "one of 100" marking, and carbon wheels with accent stripes in Nürburgring Green. The seat has an Alcantara-look covering embroidered with "100", and the rear swingarm and rear frame are finished in black.
