BMW Motorrad Announces Nine-City Adventure Riding Training Programme

BMW Motorrad has rolled out its GS Experience 2026 training programme, a two-day rider development initiative targeting owners of its GS adventure motorcycle series across nine Indian cities.

The programme, which kicks off in Chandigarh on 14-15 February, will travel through New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune, Hyderabad, Kochi and Chennai before concluding in October.

According to the company's announcement on Monday, the training sessions will accommodate 40 riders per city – 20 on Smart CC (310 GS) models and 20 on Core (650 CC and above) models – with both groups training simultaneously on separate tracks.

Programme Structure

The initiative offers two progressive training levels. Level 1 covers fundamental off-road riding techniques, including motorcycle familiarisation, rider positioning, enduro steering, emergency braking and slope navigation. Riders who complete Level 1 automatically qualify for Level 2.

The advanced module introduces participants to Enduro Pro mode – a system that adjusts ABS, traction control and power delivery for off-road conditions. Level 2 training includes exercises such as Figure of 8 patterns for cornering, off-camber riding, steep terrain navigation, sand and gravel handling, and emergency recovery techniques.

Hardeep Singh Brar, President of BMW Group India, described the programme as "more than just training" and an invitation to "join a community of passionate riders ready to explore new horizons."

Training will be delivered by BMW Motorrad International Instructor Academy (IIA) certified trainers, with sessions combining bitumen and off-road riding under supervision.

Entry Requirements

Participants must possess a valid motorcycle licence, meet minimum age requirements under local regulations, and own a BMW GS model specified for their training category. Motorcycles must be roadworthy and compliant with local regulations.

Mandatory safety equipment includes DOT/ECE/ISI-approved helmets, gloves, armoured riding jackets, riding pants and enduro boots. The company recommends BMW Motorrad-approved gear.

All participants must sign liability waivers. BMW Motorrad has stated it will not be responsible for personal injury, motorcycle damage or third-party claims during training.

Registration Details

The complete schedule runs as follows: Chandigarh (14-15 February), New Delhi (21-22 February), Mumbai (28 February-1 March), Bengaluru (28-29 March), Ahmedabad (5-6 September), Pune (12-13 September), Hyderabad (19-20 September), Kochi (26-27 September) and Chennai (10-11 October).

Registration operates on a first-come, first-served basis with limited spots. Prospective participants can register through their nearest BMW Motorrad dealership.
