BMW Launches M340i xDrive in India at Rs 74.9 Lakh
BMW India introduces the new M340i xDrive, featuring a powerful 374 hp engine, M Adaptive Suspension, refreshed interiors, and advanced technology.
BMW India has introduced the new BMW M340i xDrive in India, now available for booking at BMW dealerships and online through the BMW Online Shop. Locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai, this model is India's best-selling performance vehicle, with over 1,000 units sold since its initial launch. Known as the fastest ICE car built in India, the M340i xDrive accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.
The car now comes with M Adaptive Suspension as a standard feature, enhancing driving dynamics. The interiors have been refreshed to include genuine Vernasca leather upholstery with M stitching, and the latest widescreen curved display running BMW OS 8.5. It is offered in two new metallic colors: Arctic Race Blue and Fire Red.
Priced at Rs 74,90,000 (ex-showroom), this price is inclusive of GST and applicable compensation cess but excludes additional charges such as road tax, RTO fees, and insurance. The final price will depend on the date of invoicing, and customers are advised to contact authorised BMW dealers for more details.
The new BMW M340i xDrive is available in several metallic paint finishes, including Dravit Grey, Black Sapphire, Fire Red, and Arctic Race Blue. Inside, it features exclusive Black Vernasca leather with M highlights. Customers also have access to customised financial solutions through BMW India Financial Services, including the BMW 360˚ Finance Plan, which offers flexible payment options, an assured buy-back up to five years, and opportunities to upgrade to a new BMW model.
The exterior design maintains a sporty, low-slung look with a black mesh-style kidney grille, Adaptive LED headlights with blue accents, and M Lights Shadowline for a distinctive appearance. The car has a wide front fascia, a long hood, a flowing roofline, and a wide stance at the rear, accentuated by L-shaped LED taillights. The design is further enhanced by high-gloss black M mirror caps, a body-colored rear spoiler, and 19-inch Jet Black alloy wheels in 995M styling with red M Sport brake calipers.
Inside, the new digital BMW Curved Display integrates seamlessly into the cockpit. The interior design features bright colors and futuristic textures, with M highlights adding to its sporty appeal. Sport seats offer lateral support, while the newly designed steering wheel, which includes a red center marker and shift paddles, adds to the driving experience. Other interior highlights include Carbon Fiber trim strips, the M340i model insignia on the instrument cluster and door sills, a Welcome Light Carpet, and ambient lighting with six dimmable settings. The cabin also includes a three-zone automatic climate control, a glass sunroof, a 480-liter luggage compartment, and split-folding rear seats. The Harman Kardon Surround Sound system with 16 speakers enhances the audio experience.
For added customisation, optional M Performance Accessories are available, including Carbon Fiber elements such as a rear spoiler and ornamental grille, as well as interior features like M Door Pins and Alcantara armrests.
The BMW M340i xDrive is powered by a 2,998 cc straight-six petrol engine that produces 374 hp and 500 Nm of torque, paired with an M Sport exhaust system. It uses an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission that provides smooth gear shifts and is complemented by steering wheel paddle shifters and cruise control with a braking function. The car also features SPORT and SPORT+ driving modes, with power distributed through BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive technology, ensuring traction, agility, and stability in varied driving situations.
Equipped with M Sport brakes, the M340i xDrive includes a rear differential that enhances traction by managing power distribution. The Variable Sport Steering is precise, while the M Sport brakes provide dependable performance in various conditions. The car also incorporates BMW's Performance Control System, which enhances stability by selectively braking the wheels.
BMW's ConnectedDrive technology turns the car into a digitally connected vehicle. It includes features such as Digital Key Plus, real-time traffic updates, remote services via the MyBMW app, and the BMW Live Cockpit Professional with a 14.9-inch curved display and a 12.3-inch digital information display. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant offers touch, gesture, and voice control, learning driver preferences and offering proactive tips. Other connected features include smartphone integration and regular software updates via Remote Software Upgrades.
Driver assistance systems include a parking assistant with a rearview camera, reversing assistant that helps maneuver the car out of tight spaces by retracing the last 50 meters driven, and several EfficientDynamics technologies. These include Auto Start-Stop, Brake-Energy Regeneration, and Electronic Power Steering, alongside a 50:50 weight distribution. The Adaptive M suspension balances ride comfort with sportiness, while safety features include six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, ABS with Brake Assist, Dynamic Stability Control, Dynamic Traction Control, Cornering Brake Control, electric parking brake with auto hold, and ISOFIX child seat mounts, among others.
