BMW Group India introduces the M Drift Academy, offering enthusiasts a chance to learn drifting techniques with BMW M2 and M4 models under expert guidance, along with music performances and community activities at the After Hours event.
BMW Group India has officially introduced the BMW M Drift Academy in the country, marking a new addition to its performance driving experiences. Scheduled for April 26 and 27, 2025, the academy’s debut will take place at Raymonds Compound, JK Gram, Thane West.
The BMW M Drift Academy is a structured training platform aimed at car enthusiasts interested in learning the fundamentals of drifting in a controlled and safe environment. Participants will receive guidance from BMW-certified instructors and will drive performance models including the BMW M2 and BMW M4. The program is positioned as a way to promote responsible driving, supported by the brand’s #DriftResponsibly campaign.
“The BMW M Drift Academy is a first-of-its-kind initiative for driving enthusiasts in India,” said Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India. “It provides a focused learning environment to explore drifting techniques with an emphasis on safety and precision.”
The two-day course combines classroom instruction with practical, on-track sessions. Participants will be introduced to various techniques such as throttle control, initiating and maintaining drifts, half-circle and full-circle drifts in both clockwise and anticlockwise directions, as well as transition drifting on figure-eight layouts.
In addition to the driving sessions, BMW Group India will also host “BMW M After Hours,” an evening event intended to bring together the car enthusiast community. The gathering will feature drift demonstrations, culinary offerings, and live music performances by The Yellow Diary, Karan Kanchan, and DJ duo Prithvi B2B SMG.
