Bombay Logistics has flagged off a fleet of Blue Energy Motors’ heavy-duty LNG trucks for commercial operations in Karnataka. The trucks will be deployed in the Toranagallu region for JSW Steel operations, where they will be used for industrial freight requirements.
Blue Energy Motors said its LNG trucks are designed for intensive commercial applications and long-haul operations. The company claims the trucks offer up to 20 per cent better fuel efficiency and are intended to reduce the carbon intensity of transportation operations.
Thimmaraj Kakarla, managing partner, Bombay Logistics, said the company’s move to LNG was focused on finding a commercially viable solution for its operations. “The performance and fuel efficiency of the Blue Energy Motors trucks were important considerations,” he said.

According to Bombay Logistics, Blue Energy Motors supported the deployment through vehicle handover, route planning and on-ground assistance. Anand Mimani, CEO, EV & New Energy, Blue Energy Motors, said the company’s focus was on meeting the performance and reliability requirements of industrial operations while supporting the transition to LNG-powered freight.
The deployment adds to Blue Energy Motors’ operations across industrial and freight applications. The company said it currently has more than 1,400 trucks operating across key freight routes in India and has crossed 100 million green kilometres on Indian roads.
Blue Energy Motors manufactures heavy-duty electric and LNG trucks in India. Its business model, according to the company, combines truck technology with energy-as-a-service and maintenance support.
