The achievement supports India's commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2070, addressing a critical challenge in commercial transportation where heavy-duty vehicles contribute disproportionately to emissions. According to Ministry of Road Transport and Highways data, commercial vehicles account for nearly 40 percent of road transport CO2 emissions while representing only 4 percent of the total vehicle fleet.
LNG-powered trucks deliver emissions reductions of up to 30 percent compared to diesel vehicles while significantly reducing particulate matter and nitrogen oxide emissions.
