Blue Energy Motors and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) have operationalised a battery-swapping station for electric heavy-duty trucks in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, the companies announced on Monday.
The facility marks the operational execution of a strategic tie-up signed between the two companies in January 2026. The station expands the Mumbai–Pune Electric Freight Corridor, which was launched by Blue Energy Motors in October 2025.
The automated facility allows battery swapping for heavy-duty electric trucks in under five minutes, reducing turnaround time compared to standard plug-in charging. Integrated into HPCL's retail network, the energy hub also includes public charging infrastructure for electric two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and commercial vehicles.
Anand Mimani, CEO for EV and New Energy Business at Blue Energy Motors, said, "This first facility is a meaningful step forward, and we look forward to expanding our network of battery-swapping and charging facilities across key markets."
