The Gurugram-based startup, founded by alumni from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, is working on purpose-built electric vehicles engineered for high-utilisation operations in city environments. The company's technical approach revolves around modular vehicle architecture paired with rapid battery-swapping technology, aimed at minimizing vehicle downtime and enhancing operational efficiency in densely populated urban areas.
Nikesh Bisht, Founder and CEO of Blinq Mobility, explained the company's design philosophy. He emphasized that urban electric mobility demands vehicles that are engineered from the ground up with utilisation and reliability as core priorities. The funding, he noted, will enable the company to focus on engineering maturity and real-world validation as it progresses toward scalable deployment.
Bisht elaborated on the technical approach, describing how the company views batteries and vehicles as separate entities. In this model, the battery functions as a portable energy container while the vehicle simply utilizes that energy. This decoupling strategy is intended to allow vehicles to operate continuously without experiencing downtime for charging.
The pre-seed capital has been earmarked for several key initiatives. The funding will accelerate modular vehicle engineering and product development efforts.
