Billion Electric Mobility (BillionE), an electric mobility-as-a-service platform, has secured over 250 long-term contracts for electric truck deployment with enterprise clients across India. The contracts cover medium and heavy-duty electric trucks with gross vehicle weights ranging from 12 tonnes to 55 tonnes.
The fleet deployment spans multiple sectors including e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, cement, copper, steel, fast-moving consumer goods, automotive, and logistics. Operations are active across 16 cities in South, West, and North India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur.
The milestone coincides with the Ministry of Heavy Industries launching the PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) scheme. The government has allocated ₹500 crore to subsidize approximately 5,500 electric trucks, offering up to ₹9.6 lakh per vehicle based on battery capacity. This marks the first time electric trucks have received targeted national-level incentives in India.
BillionE currently operates over 60 heavy-duty electric vehicles and plans to scale this to 250 vehicles by early 2026. The company targets deploying 5,000 electric trucks by 2029. The contracts are structured as comprehensive service solutions that include vehicles, charging infrastructure, route planning, and maintenance support.
The platform operates through CHARGE ZONE, its affiliated charging network company, which has established high-power charging infrastructure along freight corridors including Mumbai-Delhi, Delhi-Bengaluru, and Coimbatore-Visakhapatnam routes.
BillionE raised $10 million in seed equity and debt funding earlier this year and is currently pursuing a Pre-Series A funding round of $15 million. The company plans to raise $100 million in Series A funding by the end of 2025.
The electric truck sector in India is experiencing growth as the freight industry, identified as one of the country's fastest-growing emission sources, faces pressure to decarbonize. The PM E-DRIVE scheme aims to address policy gaps and reduce total cost of ownership for electric commercial vehicles, particularly in high-pollution freight corridors.
Billion Electric Mobility was co-founded by Kartikey Hariyani, who also serves as the founder and CEO of CHARGE ZONE. The company positions itself as a technology-driven platform for India's transition to zero-emission commercial transport.
