Bijliride has partnered with Flipkart Minutes to deploy electric two-wheelers for last-mile deliveries across Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune. The deployment will be carried out in phases, with fleet volumes adjusted according to delivery demand and rider onboarding requirements.

The partnership comes ahead of the festive shopping period, with the companies offering rental benefits and prioritising vehicle availability for delivery partners. Bijliride said the model is intended to reduce operating costs for riders while avoiding upfront vehicle investment.

The deployment is also aligned with Flipkart's stated target of moving to 100 percent electric mobility by 2030 and is being integrated with its EV Assist initiative.

Bijliride To Scale EV Fleet Based On Delivery Demand

Unlike a fixed fleet allocation, the partnership uses a demand-led model in which the number of vehicles can be increased or reduced based on delivery volumes and rider onboarding requirements.

Bijliride said its nationwide deployed footprint exceeds 6,000 electric vehicles. Its fleet offering includes commercial rental plans, battery swapping, doorstep battery delivery, vehicle maintenance, 24/7 roadside assistance and telematics-based fleet management.

Bijliride founder and CEO Shivam Sisodiya said the partnership focuses on addressing vehicle uptime and operating costs in commercial EV use. He added that battery infrastructure, rentals and on-road support are intended to make electric two-wheelers more practical for delivery operations.

EV Rental Model Targets Delivery Rider Operating Costs

The partnership also focuses on the operating economics of gig workers. According to Bijliride, fuel is a significant recurring expense for riders using conventional internal combustion engine two-wheelers.

Under its asset-light rental model, riders do not need to make the upfront capital investment required to purchase a vehicle. The company said the switch to electric two-wheelers can also reduce operating costs per kilometre, potentially allowing riders to retain more of their daily earnings.

For the festive period, Bijliride and Flipkart Minutes have also structured rental benefits and prioritised vehicle availability, with the stated aim of increasing riders' on-road earning hours while limiting maintenance-related downtime.

Bijliride Provides Battery And Fleet Support

The partnership uses Bijliride's broader EV fleet ecosystem, which combines vehicle rentals with battery and maintenance support. Its services include battery swapping, doorstep battery delivery, fleet maintenance, roadside assistance and telematics-based fleet management.

The company said these services are intended to address vehicle downtime in quick-commerce operations, where delivery volumes can fluctuate significantly.
