Bijliride and Telangana Women Safety Wing Train 500 Women in Hyderabad for EV Mobility Livelihoods

Bijliride, in collaboration with the Telangana Women Safety Wing (TWSW), has trained 500 women in Hyderabad to take up driving-based livelihood opportunities through electric mobility. The initiative, launched in February 2026, aims to promote self-reliance and economic independence among women by enabling them to participate in the city’s growing EV ecosystem.

The programme included community outreach, skill development, licensing facilitation, and professional onboarding. Women were prepared to work in roles such as two-wheeler taxi drivers and electric auto operators, creating new income pathways.

The collaboration aligns with TWSW’s mandate to promote safety, dignity, and empowerment of women while encouraging their participation in Telangana’s urban mobility sector. Covering key regions of Hyderabad, the initiative also supports greener and more sustainable transport options.

Speaking on the effort, Vishal Vikram, Chief Marketing Officer, Bijliride, said,
"At Bijliride, we believe mobility can be a powerful driver of social and economic change. Encouraging women take confident steps towards financial independence through this programme is especially meaningful as we mark Women’s Day. Our collaboration with the Telangana Women Safety Wing brings together safety, sustainability, and empowerment in a tangible way, and we are committed to scaling this impact further."

Founded in 2020, Bijliride operates a fleet of over 4,000 EVs across major cities, offering rental services, battery swapping, and enterprise fleet management. The company aims to enable one million users by 2030 as part of its vision for sustainable urban mobility.
