BGauss eyes gig economy with fixed, swappable battery scooters

BGauss is looking to tap into the burgeoning gig economy by targeting fixed and swappable battery scooters. Hemant Kabra, the founder and MD said at the launch of the RUV 350, "Bgauss intends to offer a comprehensive EV solutions package with fixed and swappable options in the near future."
The company's new product, the RUV350, likely arrive at dealerships by the end of the month, features a removable battery and large 16-inch wheels, claiming improved ride quality and maneuverability.
BGauss is looking to add swappable batteries to its existing product range to add more convenience and greater uptime, so the consumer does not have to wait to charge the scooter every time it runs out of range.
The company also plans to double its overall investment over the next 12-24 months, backed by $20 million fundraising plan in the final stages of completion, informed sources.
A Niti Aayog report in 2022 on the gig economy the gig economy in India has grown significantly, boasting close to 15 million gig workers engaged in various roles such as delivery, cleaning, consulting, and blogging.
